Meet Kinetra...

Kinetra Stewart is the owner and lead stylist of The Vintage Hipster, specializing in bridal hairstyling for textured, curly, coily, and natural hair.
Originally from Jonesboro, Louisiana, Kinetra attended Grambling State University before graduating with honors from Blue Cliff College, where she earned her Cosmetology Degree. She is also a proud veteran, having served in both the United States Air Force Reserves and the United States Army.
Kinetra knew she wanted to be a hairstylist at just nine years old. In fact, the only reason she had dolls was to do their hair. What began as a childhood passion grew into a career dedicated to creativity, connection, and helping women feel beautiful and confident.
Her journey into bridal hairstyling began when a client asked her to style her hair for her wedding day. Inspired by the artistry and significance of weddings, Kinetra pursued advanced bridal education and quickly built a reputation for creating elegant styles that celebrate textured, curly, coily, and natural hair.
Within her first year specializing in bridal hair, Kinetra received WeddingWire's Couples' Choice Award. Her work has since been featured by Martha Stewart Weddings, Munaluchi Bride, Brides of Austin, and Washingtonian Brides & Grooms.
While Kinetra loves the artistry of bridal hair, it is the relationships she builds with her clients that she treasures most. From the laughter shared during the getting-ready process to the final touch before walking down the aisle, she considers it an honor to help brides feel confident, celebrated, and ready for one of the most important days of their lives.

"There is something special about being invited
into one of the most important
days of a person's life.
Beyond creating
beautiful hair, I love helping
brides feel calm, confident, and fully present as they prepare to walk down the aisle.
The quiet moments,
big laughs, happy tears, and
final hug before the ceremony are what make this work so meaningful to me."
